In my opinion there are several ‘must haves’ to implement effective work experience activities in an organisation and this week I would like to focus on Leadership and Strategic Vision.
Let’s take leadership…..I suggest that it is necessary to have a designated lead for work experience to champion the cause within the organisation and be the single point of contact for external agencies. A work experience lead at Board level to be the driving force for internal communication, together with the designated operational lead for external communication, would be even more advantageous.
As for strategic vision……. The organisation should embrace a vision to include planned outcomes for work experience activities that becomes an integral part of long term workforce planning activity.
