Do we under-value activity that requires us to sit down and really challenge the status quo, is it easier just to keep on keeping on?

I think so Sharon, additionally workforce planning in the past I would argue has largely been seen by healthcare providers as a vehicle for facilitating education commissioning (pre-registration and MPET etc.) as opposed to a fundamental part of the overall planning process for an individual organisation. Usually this process facilitates traditional thinking on workforce requirements and is a case of +/- numbers.
