I began my career in the NHS in 1982 as a physiotherapist and after gaining wide clinical and managerial experience, became a therapy advisor within the Welsh Office Clinical Effectiveness Support Unit.
Moving from clinical management into supporting t NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) implementation working with NHS Modernisation Agency initially and then NHS Employers.
I gained valuable experience working as a Workforce Development Manager in Herefordshire facilitating integrated workforce planning and development across health and social care, working with public, private and voluntary sectors. Moving from here to work for the Sector Skills Council for Health, where my role was to, facilitate the development, testing and spread of innovative approaches to solving current and/or future workforce challenges working with a range of healthcare employers.
Continuing with my passion for healthcare workforce design and development I continue to work for Skills for Health as a Senior Consultant where I lead and manage a diverse portfolio of workforce planning, design and development projects.
When I’m not working - I enjoy time with my family (including the cat!) music, amateur dramatics, holidays and cake decorating!
